Della Dandridge

Della Dandridge

Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Born in February and originally from Michigan, Della often jokes that she should have been born on an island. She loves the sun, the beach, and hot tropical weather—and has never quite understood Michigan winters that seem to last about six months of the year. She often asks... “Whatever happened to the four seasons?”

While working in the county government system in Michigan and attending Davenport College to pursue a career as a court reporter, Della was already looking forward to a position with the then-Circuit Court Judge George Corsiglia. However, along the way, she discovered that what she really enjoyed was helping and working with people. That realization led her to redirect her career and pursue Human Resources.

After moving to Atlanta in 1989, Della spent the next 12 years working in corporate Human Resources within the hotel industry, including positions with IHG (InterContinental) and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. She became certified in Human Resources through Kennesaw State University.

In 2002, Della began her journey with AMAS and the REALTORS® Associations, where she quickly found her professional/family home. She often says, “The AMAS Team is the best ever!” Jenny Pruitt, former ARA President, and Bill Butler, former ACBR President, played an important role in bringing Della to the Team—and the rest, as they say, is history.

Della credits much of her love for working with people to growing up in a very large family. She is one of 60 first cousins—yes, 60!—not to mention the countless second and third cousins who make the family even larger. She loves spending time with her family and considers those relationships among the most important parts of her life. Della also became a stepmom and grandma the easy way! Her stepdaughter, stepson, and granddaughter are Amy, Thomas, and Jayli, who hold a very special place in her heart.

And while she admits she will probably never own a Bentley car, she does have a Bentley of her own. She adores the 4-legged members of her family, her poodle named Bentley and two cats Chloe and Zoe.

Among the many memorable experiences in Della’s life, one of the most exciting was attending the Grammy Awards and finding herself in the same room with legendary performers including Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins, and Tina Turner—just to name a few. It was truly an experience of a lifetime… and, yes, one she is still happy to “name drop”!

One of my favorite parts of my role is helping people find common ground.

foundation of lasting impact. I also firmly believe that kindness, curiosity, and

collaboration can open doors that credentials alone cannot.
